All performers are donating their talents to this event and all proceeds will go directly to theorganizations and communities within the Gullah/Geechee Nation that are doing the necessary political and cultural work to build and sustain the nation.The event will last all day. From 12pm to 5pm(Free Entry) outdoors, will be youth and family focused, with many performances, workshops and activities pertaining to Gullah/Geechee, Indigenous, and Hip Hop Culture. Along with local and national vendors. From 7 to 12 pm($10) will be 18+ with National and local Hip Hop and Cultural Performances with vibrations that will keep the movement dancing all night. We will commemorate and Zalute Fallen (BLM activist) and Comrade Zulu Nation KIng Muhiyidin D’Baha during the event and present a plaque to members of his family.The Gullah/Geechee Nation exist from Jacksonville, NC to Jacksonville, FL. It encompasses all of the Sea Islands and thirty to thirty-five miles inland to the St. John’s River. On these islands, people from numerous African ethnic groups linkedwith indigenous Americans and created the unique Gullah language and traditions from which later came “Geechee.” The Gullah/Geechee people have been considered “a nation within a nation” from the time of chattel enslavement in the United States until they officially became an internationally recognized nation on July 2nd, 2000. At the time of their declaration as a nation, the Gullah/Geechee people confirmed the election of their first “head pun de boddee”-head of state and official spokesperson and queen mother.
