black august and a new black arts movement on a rise

peace, a powerful black August and unconditional revolutionary love to you

a few more things going up – to Rise.

We are growing. Come grow with us. Since we last spoke a new black arts movement now has a school Freebrook Academy (www.freebrook.org) support our revolutionary education in action. We now have a big band, this past Sunday we celebrated Fred Ho's b'earthday and 2 legacies (scientific soul sessions and the Eco-Music Big Band)https://www.facebook.com/ecomusicbigband or visitwww.scientificsoulsessions.com for further information on upcoming from our revolutionary big band. And we are currently producing a free Hip Hop summer camp for the youth see below.

In addition to our existing formations scientific soul sessions, movement in motion, zulu nation, urban art beat, art start, the next youth coalition we would like to welcome Guerrilla Republik.

We are challenging white supremacy with a new black arts movement. We are Maroons. Afrikan, Amerindian's, White and the like Maroons. We have mentally left the plantation to create and build this autonomous prefigurative society called a new black arts movement. It is a new black arts movement because Black is our state of mind, White is not. Black still, despite oppression throughout the united snakes of amerikkka, are the ones that most populate concentration/slave camps (prisons) which the us holds and reigns supreme in the world by shackling and “imprisoning” our black and brown men (mostly young) with womyn not too far behind as they are the fastest growing population.

These next few events tomorrow and Sunday will speak more and tell creative stories of oppression and resistance as we commemorate our ancestors and political prisoners always and especially this month.

We will be updating and revising this Black August information packet, however for now please download information for your information.https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x185lasr6bpji0h/AADRdMc9N1SfzAoreYWVCH0ga

see you at show, in the streets, at a soul session. Free Palestine and all oppressed nationalities and Nations. All power through the people, to the people, for the people.

Scientific Soul Sessions and Movement in Motion presents

A New Black Arts Movement: Revolutionary Education

Sunday, July 20, 2014 @ 4PM

$10 admission

@ casa de soul 724 Empire BLVD Btw Albany and Troy

A New Black Arts Movement is painting a new aesthetic, one in which we liberate ourselves from our oppressors. We are matriarchal, eco-socialist, and majority oppressed nationality and identity. On July 20th, 2014, we will explore the necessity, existence, and lack there of revolutionary education with food, art, the celebration of youth entrepreneurship, politics, and various presentations from youth and youth organizations.

A New Black Arts Movement acknowledges that in order for liberation, true and revolutionary education must be celebrated and accepted. We imagine a world where all children are afforded the quality education of the wealthy, where culture is at the fore front of lessons, and where children have the freedom to explore their skills and talents beyond teacher expectations. We prefigure a world where educational institutions are community spaces and where children are given the tools to change the society in which they live.

We are matriarchal, eco-socialist, and majority oppressed nationality and identity. On July 20th, 2014, we celebrate an example of revolutionary education, Freebrook Academy. On this evening, A New Black Arts Movement presents an afternoon of food, exploring of revolutionary education, art, the celebration of youth entrepreneurship, politics, and various presentations from youth and youth organizations.

Freebrook Academy – 375 Stuyvesant Ave

The New Black Arts Movement is painting a new aesthetic, one in which we liberate ourselves from our oppressors. The liberation of our revolutionary love will commence as we celebrate the sanctity of food, arts, politics, and community.

The New Black Arts Movement acknowledges that all love is revolutionary, and we prefigure a new society in which all love is celebrated and accepted. We imagine a world in which heteronormative, monogamous love and the nuclear family model are not the social norm, and we celebrate freedom, love, equality, and justice. We are matriarchal, eco-socialist, and majority oppressed nationality and identity. The New Black Arts Movement presents an afternoon of food, politics, arts, and genderqueer clothing swap.

The New Black Arts Movement May 2014 cultural event celebrates the centennial of legendary composer, poet, afrofuturist and cosmic philosopher Sun Ra. Sun Ra's black identity, ecosocialism, and revolutionary art and politics will live forever!

Be sure to bring your gently used clothing for an all-gender clothing swap - we are prefiguring our very own pop-up thrift store!

The new Black Arts Movement is painting a new aesthetic, one in which we liberate ourselves from a nature-nurture less society. The unchaining of our ancestral roots, will commence as we celebrate the sanctity of food, nature and communion!
Conjuring the wisdom of our generations past, we will utilize original traditions to help us propel forward into a fusion culture of then and now, by way of Eco-socialism and revolutionary matriarchy experimentation. We acknowledge Nature as our first teacher, we will eat foods from Mother natures bounty and move to her sweet rhythms with performances that are bound to elevate our collective consciousness. Rhythms & Roots is sharp shooting through cultural assimilation via globalization and celebrating the mosaic of indigenous peoples of every land.

@Bed Stuy Super Club 613 Jefferson Avenue
third black sunday March 16th 4pm $10 $7 advance

we are building towards a revolutionary matriarchal future, which will be the opposite of patriarchy, not its mirror image. matriarchy will be a revolutionary future, in which social construct of gender is eliminated and humanity is re-socialized, in which values of caring, nurturance, creativity, compassion and collectivity prevail. we denounce gynocide: the ways that capitalism and white supremacy have attempted to break the spirit of struggle by inflicting violence upon and de-valuing womyn and all we represent.
